Help Guys!

I tried searching but can't find an exact "match" with my problem.

My car is having some very strange A/C problems. When I turn my engine off, the blower/fan turns on, and there's air blowing into the side and windshield vents, not on the center vents though.

What could be the problem here?

And to make matters worse, when I turn the engine on, the fan/blower stops.

Your urgent replies are very very much appreciated.

Thanks

Maybee your car is cursed?

but for reals, could it have something to do with the residual buttom?

Thanks for your reply.

I know, it does seem like my car is cursed! :)

And it's really weird because even when the key off, and away from the ignition slot, the vents' still blowing air.

What do you mean by residual button?

My car has a buttom to circulate hot air even when the car is off. Its so passengers can stay warm while your in the store. The buttom says resd i think.

ok thanks. i think i know which button you're talking about.

i think it says 'RST' on mine.

so, the blower will stay on, even if the engine is off?

check your book, but its a time or temp thing.

At least on 99's, it is on a 30 minute timer. Be aware though, if your battery is getting weak and below a certain voltage, "rest" won't work. This is to keep "rest" from draining your battery to the point it won't be able to start the car. Nice thinking on the part of those Germans :)

Thanks again guys.

You're right, it was the rest button. I may have accidentally switched it on. I now know that the blower stays on for 30min.
