Hi all. I went to move my father's 97 C280 tonight (on vacation) and first of all the car turned over funny. Like a no compression, I broke a timing belt funny. Car started but the lifters were ticking like a fake Rolex and the car was stumbling at idle. Two minutes of lightlty bringing up the RPMs the engine eventually smoothed out and the lifters got quiet after five minutes running. Clearly the lifter/s bled down, but this car has only been sitting four days. I leave my C36 sitting weeks on end and never had this happen. Granted it is cold...but nothing like an East Cost cold. The car has Mobil 1 10W-30 with 2K on it and the car has70k miles total. Are the lifters shot or is this somewhat normal?
