I would like to put some LEDs instead of regular bulbs in my cluster and in dashboard. Could you guys please tell me what kind do I have to buy and where should I buy them?
I found several online shops, prices are so so close but I doubt in quality.
There are some "all in one" solutions on ebay where you can buy all bulbs in one package but dunno if that is right thing to do.

Thank you very much for your answer.

I know how to use that function, trust me.

Trouble is that I can't even see anything of old posts, I remember that omeyhomey (or smth like that, sorry if I'm wrong) did that in his car, but I simply can't find it.

if youve got black/dark cluster, then search, and you shall find.. if you got a "sport" cluster .. dont waste your time .. just save up for a complete cluster upgrade in every sense of the word and move to a w208/210 all together.. the only big problem Ive yet to deal with is that the rpm gauge only reachs 5k on those clusters when the c230K will reach that no problem with the "sports" switch pressed....
anyway THEN you can moreless get any run of the mill led upgrade lights I think most people want white and white only works on dark clusters, omeyhomey demostrated there effectiveness quite well..

that said I think RED led lighting which i havnt tested.. might work sweet.. on sports

a search for cluster and bulb doesn't return anything?http://club202.com/forums/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=206061&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending if this link doesn't show any results, you might just need to clear the cookies and internet explorer cache, then try logging back into the forums.

the reason the "sport" clusters don't work well with bulb swaps, is because the outside temp, odometer, and clock have amber light filters to make them have the glow that they do, where the elegance and standard model cars don't have that light filter.

that actual gague faces of the white insert has the same amber glow to them, where the simple black ones are closer to white light. you can actually order the clusters themselves, but i would have to take my dash apart to get you part numbers of the white gagues. i'll look at my old black one if anyone is interested.

i like the amber backlight of the white cluster with the white needles, and standard bluish green LCDs. i mixed and matched what i liked the best, but i might even go back to my orange needles with the white faces to see how that looks. i would love to have bright red, like in the BMW M3s

Yea I kinda realised I like the oem look allot more then raving blue which is how my cluster is now har har i had to get extreme what can I say.. damn the the ricenss to hellllll!.. but with the whole led upgrade thing I try to keep in mind that you are doing this for reasons of creating a nice serene low voltage enviroement and taping the modern day technology avaialable.. lower the electrical strain, increase life span and lower services/replacement intervals , hopefully more durable as theres no fillament ... and freeing up the capcity for other electrical convience .. sound, puters, etc

oh yah.. damn that orange film to hell!!! too

the orange pieces for the LCDs at the bottom are removeable, but you'd have to swap out for a black set if you wanted whiter illumination.

i'm looking into drawing up a cut-out template and having my uncle laser cut the pieces so we can produce a 100% custom face cluster. the hardest part is just cutting out all the lines and markers for the speedo

my intention is for brushed aluminum faces, and being able to use my own light filters to change each and every color to my liking so i can use ultra white bulbs / LEDs, and change them as i wanted to without redoing the entire cluster each time i wanted to swap colors.

even the thought of multi-color LEDs would allow you to change the dash lights on the fly, for more wow factor ;)
