View Full Version : Where's that water noise coming from?

It rained last weekend. I found out that my sunroof seal leaks. That's not good, but whatever, it's on the list now.

More concerning is the whoosh sound of rushing water when I make hard stops. I can only imagine that some of the drains have become clogged and water has found its way into the vehicle, but not out.

Anyone know where the drains are?
TIA...

it might be your gas tank? there is liquid in there and when you make a hard stop that might be where the noise is coming from

It's posssssssssssible...

But I would've expected more of a "sloshing" noise if it were the gas tank, not a "whooshing" noise like water percolating over a linear uneven suface. Think babbling brook as opposed to shaking bucket.

I get the whoosh sound when it rains and I move the car for the first time, but its just water sliding across the roof and moving to the front and side windows.

How about clogged drains in the ducting for you air-co somewhere in between the bottom of the intake at the base of your windshield to the base of the blower motor.
