Planning to change my tranny fluid in the near future on my
C220 and am
thinking about switching to synthetic. Anyone have this in
their car? If so, what brand? Does it stay cleaner longer than
regular fluid? Does your tranny shift any smoother with it
(as many claim it will do)?

this topic has been discussed many times before, so do a search on it. you might also look into my threads about different fluids and additives, just search under "lubricants for optimal performance" and "additives for optimal performance" and you should see my threads.

BG just came out with a synthetic tranny fluid and flush machine for our dealer here in CT. the fluid is recommended for all tranny's except the 722.9 which they said they will come out with in the near future. personally i haven't tried it yet so i cannot comment on the reliablility of it but they said it is perfectly safe even for the 722.4 tranny in your car!

Did do a search but really wanted to hear some personal
experiences. As for Redline, I had it in my old 190E transmision and
was very disappointed. Claimed it would make shifting smoother,
especially in cold weather, but it never did anything of the
kind.
