I had my car on a lift today and noticed there was oil coming out of all 4 of my shocks. The suspension is stock. I'm running 18x8.5J wrapped in 225/40/18 tires all around. The shocks were replaced probably 2 years go. What could have caused it? After i put on the rims, the ride was a bit stiffer because of the thinner tires. Could the rims possibly have caused my shocks to tap out? Or do shocks only last about 2 years?

slight leakage or slight oil residue is normal for the shocks. only replace them if they are actually dripping oil or worn-out!

Shocks definitely dont last for two years, also, 18s is not likely to have caused that either. As long as you dont remember bumping around in big holes on the street, things shhhould be ok, be careful for a while though and try to notice if theres any ride difference in the past weeks or so.

Once they get to that point, they're done. I put Bilstein HDs on mine last month. 3 OEM Sachs were oily, one was ok. 140k miles. $300 shipped from e-shocks.com
