Ive been doin a little search but they ve always been asking about connecting it to stock headunits...
I have the JVC KDSH 707R (http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/car-cd-players/jvc-kdsh707r.asp) CD player which does not support mp3 format on its own and I yesterday bought the TRANSCEND T.SONIC 520 (http://www.transcendusa.com/Products/ModDetail.asp?ModNo=101&SpNo=2&LangNo=0) in order to connect it to the AUX port located in the front of my player (pic). I also enabled it throught the SEL(ect) option but nothing is happening.

Can you guys help me out on that? Do I need to see if this mp3 is compatible with conectivity to other devices? It has a cable which fits my CD players AUX's port on each end, the other one goes in the mp3 itself. It was in the box.
Thanks in advance.

If it cannot decode the MP3 audio signal, then even you are SOL.
Evene through the AUX it cannot decode it. That would be useful I guess for I guess a portable DVD plarer, or just a regualr portable CD player, ect.
I fthe unit will not play MP3's, it also can not decode them.
That is why I like my Sony. I can hook up anything to it.

When this model was available, the mp3 technology existed and the KDSH 909R had mp3. I know I can hook a DVD player into it, it has the option. mp3 is more common so I assume I can plug that in too. How can I tell if my CD player can decode mp3 audio signal?

AUX input should not care wheter you have an mp3 player or not.
Do you have the dubbing cable?
basically it looks like this.

Just connect the output of your mp3 player into the AUX input. And then switcht to AUX.

try to play the mp3, adjust the volume to about 80% and then adjust the volume in the head unit.
If this does not work, check your manual on how to do this. Maybe the AUX port is broken.

maybe ur cdplayer like mine has 2 AUX, a rear one and the one in front, i would suggest going to the audio functions, or the prefrences or what ever JVC calls them and activate all AUX ports...

like the person above me had mentioned. check the rear. some head units have a set of pre-outs for AUX functions on the rear like my radio. once plugged in it should read it right away.
if that the case you will need something like this...

another option is if you have a cd changer port on the back you can use your mp3 player off the connector assuming you don't have a cd already installed...

OK problem solved sold yesterday, I was connecting the jack to the "line in" port of my mp3 player when I should have put it in the headphones port. Simple as that, stupid as me. :square:
