Idle speed / transmission after first start in the day

I changed my MAF recently with very good results.
During 30-40 miles I witnessed the ECU adaptation and the car has now a stable behaviour.
Two points that I have doubts are:

1. When I start the car in the morning it goes to 1250 rpm during 30-40 seconds and then goes down to half that speed. I avoid moving the car while the idle is higher.

2. After that, when I am already on the road the gear shifting is normal but it extends a bit the time it takes to shif to higher gears. In about two minutes everything is normal again.

Temperatures here are similar to Florida an it is summer time.

That behaviour does not repeat during the day.
Is that normal to a C280 ?
I am a bit afraid that the scanning performed while the MAF was bad could hide some other malfunction that may be showing up now.

Its normal. Your car tends to rev more at startup to heat up the catalytic converters faster, but after they heat up it goes back to normal shifting.
