im trying to loosen my oil filter but its too tight, i noticed on top theres a arrow that points to the right. does that mean you loosen it to the right which is (opposite direction) from normal loosen/tighten directions

please help

and what size of oil filter remover do i get?

i purchased a 3/8 it fits right in but when i twist it... it slips off.....

you need one of those self-adjusting oil filter removers, you can pick one up from harbor freight tools or any large volume tool store in your area. it only costs a few bucks.

From my experience as a DIYer on Hondas/Acuras, loosening is counterclockwise - and I wouldn't imagine that it would be a reverse thread on the 202, but I might be wrong.

You can try the dealer parts department as they probably have a vehicle-specific filter wrench adapter, but it'll probably cost a pretty penny. Some of the ones they sell at Kragen/Pep Boys/etc. are for multi-applications, so it'll seem like it fits right on, but it'll actually slip because it's not an exact fit.

Who changed your oil last and tightened it so tight?
