when i bought my car in june of 2006, the first wiper setting worked fine, the one where the wiper goes once stops for a while, goes again,

now only the second and third ones work and i would really like to have that slow function back for when its slightly raining, so i dont have to judo chop the barely there water:D

any suggestions?
how to take of the switch, clean the contacts maybe?\\

thanks

dunno if its ur wiper blade playing up or the actual lever setting. but just a suggestion you may want to look into. there is a thread or two about lubricating the motors of the wiper with pics and details on 'how to'. just do a search on that if u think thats your problem. otherwise im not much help. sorry.

it helped my wipers though ! ;)

thanks for the info, but the wiper is fine to my knowledge, some sort of electrical problem i would thing, because the wipper works fine at the other speeds

As I recall, the slow speed is controlled thru the combo relay while the med & fast go a different route. So it might be an interruption somewhere along that circuit.

Mine has the same problem, but I'm waiting for warmer weather...

I'll try to look it up tomorrow.

Stox didn't you have the same problem? How'd you make out?

I replaced the combination relay. It has worked fine since, knock on wood.

I just recently had the same problem. I replaced the Combination relay and that fixed it. Turned out that when the intermittent wipers wouldnt' work, neither would my turn signals, hazards, rear window heater.. etc

see all that stuff works though, just not the slow speed movement, i think it may be a bad contact?
