Heavy Keychain Warning

My independent Mechanic kept informing me of getting rid of most of the keys on my keychain to a seperate one and use ONLY the smartkey alone in the ignition. He said he had many 202s with broken ignitions due to the weight of the keys on your keychain and it breaks something inside the ignition.

I never read anything about this on any forums but does it hold true? I have the MB key now on a seperate keychain just in case.

Iv been told this by an MB mechanic too......... he said its also a good idea as the smartkey's are easily damaged by other keys and cost over £100 to replace :(

Makes sense to me... I thought about this too when I had pepper spray attached to my key ring. That canister was pretty heavy..
