I'm a new w202 owner. A 2000 230K to be extact. I don't plan on lowering my car. I want to get 18/19 inch rims, but don't want to look like a monster truck (ie big wheel gap). Is there a good rim width versus tire size you could recomend that would still look good at stock height?
Thanks all.

with my 18's with 225/40/18 and NOT lowered it looked like a bit of a monster truck!

Koni springs dropped it real nice now...

I think you'll find that you will need to lower to keep it looking nice, but see what other ppl are running, have a browse throught the members gallery too!

I'd like to leave mine alone and not lower it, but i think i'll probably have to (get the car back tomorrow morning, i think) but yeah, from what I see, it won't look "right" until the car is lowered... i'll have to figure out exactly how much lower i'll need to go..

How low do most people need to go, i've got a C 220 and i'm putting 18" wheels on.. Seems that most guys go about 1.5 inches or so, i found a kit that will drop it 1.2 all around, for about $240 .. think that's sufficient? I'll have to measure to be exact i guess.

That's good enough and don't forget the number 2 pads... ;) ;)

my car lowered about 2.2" on Koni's with No. 1 pads.

I'm stoked with how it sits!

Ok, turns out i didn't get 18's. I got there and found that they had installed 17" wheels instead... the situation was that i was looking at a set and i said yeah those are fine, and he said that he THOUGHT they were 18" wheels but they might be 17" and i told him, OK but if they're 17 than i'd like the 18" one's ordered, because for $2000 i think i deserve 18's....

Turns out they decided to just stick me with the 17's..... im kinda pissed that they jerked me around a little but when i saw it i thought it looked great anyway, and overall i'm pretty happy with it.

Turns out that they're 17" wheels with NON low-profile tires, meaning it fills up the wheel well just fine, but now the car sits like maybe 4 inches higher than what it used to sit at... i think it looks pretty good, but next time i get tires i might get low pro's and lower the car.

Sorry no pics yet.
