Rear Defroster

So I got the car in August and since then until about 2 weeks ago the rear defroster worked fine, and fast. But now I turn the switch on and the button lights up and stays lit, but alas, the window does not defrost at all and I have to scrape it in the -15 weather with the windchill. I haven't gone to the fuse box yet, but I assume it's okay if the light on the switch lights up.

Any thoughts on this? I couldn't seem to find a closely related post. I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

There are two fuses in your rear demister circuit, one for the control circuit and the other for the main feed. The fact that the light on the switch illuminates just means that the control circuit fuse is ok , check the maxi-fuse for the main feed.
If that is ok your problem is probably with the multi function relay in the compartment at the rear of the main fusebox.
