Parking brake beeper and light...

My 1997 C280 Sport is annoying me. When I hit a small bump or irregularity in the road the parking brake light and beeper go off. The only way to stop it is to play with the parking brake release lever or, hwat works better, is to play with the hood release lever.

There's apparently a short in the switch somewhere. Does anyone know how to fix this problem correctly?
