From what I can tell, there is NO technical reason why the C36 wiring harness (HWA 202 540 03 32) cannot be replaced with a 1995 C280 wiring harness (202-540-40-32).

The 1995 C36 and 1995 C280 use the exact same and amount of sensors, throttle body (I don't have ASR on my C36), and ECU pinouts.

The C36 AMG wiring harness is about $1K, and the C280 wiring harness is about $500 (HALF!).

Am I missing something here ?

I'm 99.99% sure, that since I have an EARLY C36 engine with a serial number below F159969, that I am suppose to use the 202.540.40.32 pn# (cheaper!) even though I have option code# 957 in my DataCard.

FWIW, HWA 202 540 03 32 is for engine sn# starting at F159970 and up to the end of MY95 with OPTION code 957.

Am I missing something ?
