Thanks man, I've seen that one but I was wondering if there was any specific colored wires in the door gutter that I could tap for constant power.
surely someone must know a constant power wire in the door sill gutter for an update?
I also have noticed on my door switches there are only two wires. On the front door switch there is one grey and brown and a brown wire. On the rear door switch there is a light purple pinkish wire / grey wire and a brown wire. On the how to's the door switch has three wires? Maybe that is for pre update? Where would my red and black wires go now?
Alright well I managed to find a live wire in the door gutter, it's red and grey in the left hand gutter. I will tap the black wire into the grey / brown wire from the switch and see how it goes.
finished! I will post some pics up later. I had to take the back seats out as the passenger side door switch wires were routed behind the back into the trunk as the battery is closer.

i wonder how hard it would be to modify them red. hmmmm :bunny:
Yeah I don't know how you would do that, if you can make up a new EL strip it and get some appropriate connectors etc it should be fine.

it looks as though the lettering is clear acrylic though, and they actually have a frosted paint coat on the back like the tachometer needles. i wonder if they're just cross-firing blue LEDs that can be desoldered and replaced with red ones :bandit:
