Hey guys,

I am looking to make a performance intake kit for the M104. It will be a black powdercoated OEM looking design w/ K&N filter and a few other components.

I am trying to get the targeted price down under $225 (Club202 price of $199 for everything).

Would anyone be interested, I just want to get a head count of what to expect.

not sure what headers those are the bolt patterns don't line up with the m104 but these's are wish the rest of his picture were up (had finished pictures of m104 headers but the links are broke)

Thats my goal! the M104 was one of the best inline-6s ever made that was never given the recognition it deserved. There is no reason a C36 shouldn't be making at least 90-100HP/L (not only 76HP/L in C36 form) so hopefully I can get it to those levels. I would like to see C280s getting close to C36 numbers and C36 numbers getting well past C43 numbers. I just want to insure the headers & pulleys are 100% perfect so complications arise later. Your patience is much appreciated during this time of R&D. Thx again boys.

I have read in a couple of books that there is hardly any gain by fitting tubular headers (which i assume yours will be) to an inline 6 which already has very efficient "split-type" cast headers, as they join cylinders 1,2,3 to one outlet and 4,5,6 to another outlet (such as the M104). Supposedly the gain to be expected by fitting tubular headers is 2-3 HP. Is it really worth going to such effort to gain power that you'd never notice?

ALL inline 6's have that 123 456 design haha. of course you can gain off of headers like that. Remember they are still cast log style manifolds with very poor merge sections and etc. I gained 12 wheel HP on my M3 engine which has identical stock header design simply by switching to aftermarket design (18wheel HP & torque w/ crank pulley, although M104 should make more i feel). Don't make assumptions when it comes to these things b/c you never know how its gonna react. i'd be shocked if I couldn't squeeze out 8-12HP just by headers alone depend if C280 or C36

well that sounds great!!! anything to squeeze a couple more horses from my M104!! Dyno results and shipping costs will be the deciding factors...
