infinity's new reference speakers are 2ohms, so from what ive heard they will work with the bose system.
if i was to get these for the rear doors would they be and improvement? and the if i got them for the fronts would they have just as much bass? they are relativly cheap, and for a good sound upgrade im game

I was on their site today and noticed this as well. Could be an easy way to upgrade the Bose audio without having to yank wires and swap out the amp.

Any thoughts? Do you think their components will also be 2 ohm compatible?

first off i would call infinity and double check because the reference series have always been 4 ohms and the kappa series were 2 ohms. so maybe they change the reference series for 2007 but i would double check. if you replace the door speakers it would sound a little better but you would loose a little low and mid bass. that is where Bose speakers are strong at. the only way to really make your system louder/cleaner is to replaced the head unit and speakers and either run the speakers off of the head unit or an external amp as the factory bose amp doesn't supply enough watts to really make the speakers "scream".

i am pretty sure the info is correct because both the crutchfield catologue and website say it, oh i have a new alpine head unit installed, i think they would add bass in the rear doors because there is hardly any there to begin with, the fronts have alot of bass so those im not sure of, and it also says the components are 2ohm to. i think its a really good deal, for some reason crutchfield.com says the 3 1/2 need modification to fit but the look compatible, not sure about the front

doesnt the bose have more power than an alpine hu? i think its loke 200watts or something similar

All I think you would be doing is adding a touch more clarity or "brightness" to the system. I actually always lost bass when I put aftermarket system in my old car for some reason compared to stock speaker.

BTW the rear door speakers are only for "fill" of sound in the rear. They shouldnt be making the bass anyways.

Agreed, not looking for bass but for added clarity, sound stage and richness of sound.

I should never have listened to that Mark Levinson in my co-worker's Lexus!

i am definatly looking for clarity too, the rears always seem to have some static in them. im guessing that replacing 13 year old speakers would be a sound improvement anyways, because over the past ten months ive been listening to the bose pretty loud, cant help it sounds so good!
i like the button on the tweeter that increases its db by +3, thats cool

look at the reference's tweeter it may be only on bigger models but the 4in has a small button on it.

Yup I'm pretty sure the Bose are 2ohm. But what about fitment with these Infinity speakers? Anyone give these a try yet?

Why not just upgrade the dash tweeters? The bose speakers are in ported 2litre enclosures designed for the W202. The dash tweeters arent too strong or bright and this would give you better sound I think.

What replacement tweeters would you recommend?

I never upgraded them but any aftermarket tweeter would do.
