sometimes i hear some noise, it goes on for maybe 1 second, it sound like something is scraching something, know what i mean?
it only happens sometimes, also my car doesnt start always, it takes like 3-4 tries, the mechanic told me its not the starter, he said it might be spark plugs or air filter, what are your opinions on this?
anyone else ahd similar problems?

tell your mechanic to pull off the access cover on the bell housing of your tranny and apply antisieze to the flywheel teeth all the way around. this will fix your starting problem (3-4 attempts like you said) in the morning!

I have what may be the same sound. It sounds to me like when there is a leak on a spark plug, which I don't think it is, but that is what the sound looks like.
What year is your 202?, mine is a 2,000.
I am trying to figure this out, because it does not happen all the time.

Hey guys has anybody found out what the problem is? The problem described is happening in my c240. A merc mechanic said it could be my EIS or a module ( he told me which one but ive forgotten) Both parts cost $1000NZ each (700USD). Any other suggestions to this problem would be much appreciated.

The mechanic didnt have a clue. Took it to another merc mechanic and he lubed my starter moter. Easy, problem solved.
