hi i have a 1995 c220. it still has the original mercedes radio but im getting it replaced soon. i have an original radio from my moms c230 sport coupe and i was wondering if that would fit and if so would it be an easy install and fit right in?
the c230 radio has fiber optics as well i guess if that has any bearing on your answer.

and if it wont work, any suggestions for a new head unit would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

What year is the C230? When you take out the one from the C230, take a look at the back connectors and compare them with the one from your C220. 95 C220 came with either a Bekker or an Alpine head unit. I also have a 95 C220 and I've just recently upgraded my head unit to an Alpine CDA-9856. It's reasonably priced I'm very happy with it. Installation is easy specially if you will be using a harness adaptor with it. Goodluck and let me know if you need help installing a new head unit.

BTW i think you did what i did...my mom has an 02 E class and i tried it in my c 280 and it didnt work...but my radio( the on EBAY, in the previous post) worked in hers, less the remote capabilities in the steering wheel...+ theres no where to plug it in. the wiring and connectors are the same.

on your car with my radio, i dont think it would work cause i believe your system uses fibre optics( the cd player in those years), unless yours came with the same radio which i doubt
