i kinda want to cut my springs in the front so the front sits a little lower. has anyone here cut their springs? how does it ride? im thinkin of doing no more than 1/2 a coil on each spring. im on H&R's and stock shocks with #1 pads up front. how hard is it to cut the springs? where can i get it done? i am planning to cut the springs, get alignment, and get new tires.

cutting the springs even on a civic or a gti is bad
what about on an mb
if h&r with #1 pads is not low enough for you
i'd say get an h&r cup kit for it

make sure you have #1 pads though first

Hey Ryhi

I gots some Cup kits springs that you can buy off of me. What year C280 you gots??? The Springs are pre cut too. The part code is 31007. You can go to here http://www.hrsprings.com/site/frameapplications.html and look the kit new is 815 dollaz. I am either putting stock springs back on or cutting the stock springs i have because i dont like my ride so low. But it sounds perfect for your ride. i will sell them to you for $130.

You may want to remove your shocks and cut about 1 inch off the very long rubber bump stops on the shocks.

These bump rubbers act as little springs and can hold your car up higher than you want especially with the stock shocks.

I would do this first before cutting the springs.

Is this the reason why you wanna get Kumhos tires size
205x40x17? Skinny tire lower front?  ;)

Okay, cutting springs is a touchy subject. I have cut my springs on my car, but it put me too low to the ground so I want bigger pads(#5). Now as for the ride, it has not changed, I don't feel that much of a difference, yes you do feel the speed bumps a little bit more or pot holes, but not that much more. Denlasoul has seen my car go down the freeway and it does not bounce that much. I cut more then anyone, I went with 1 coil in the front and 1-1/2 in the rear, so the car is pretty much on the ground. So, I do have experience with the spring cutting. The thing you want to make sure of, have a professional do it, because if you do it wrong.....then you will notice a world of difference in ride.
