Sure its easier then you thing. Its just the two nuts on top of and the bolt on the bottom. remove and replace and your done. Takes about 2 hours or less if doing in your home garage.

You don't need special tools but it will make it much easier. If you don't have any special tools then you will need:

2 Jack stands
1 Jack
Metric Offset ratches (i think are 13mm, 16mm, 17mm)
and regular Ratchets *Metric*

and as far as i remmeebr those toold should do it, justmake sure u have enought metric sizes sockets.

Nevermind my post... all the talk about spring compressor make me think you are changing your springs.

Changing shock is SHOCKINGLY easy! It'll take you 20 minutes each corner..hopefully NOKIA will post the how to soon! :)

how exactly did u manage to compress the springs to take em off??? they are rock solid! so w/o a compressor..... must have been a pain in the a** to take em off..

Merc_lover,

You do not need a spring compressor to do it. You can undo the lower control arm and support it with a jack. Then you slowly lower the jack and the spring should come out.

that sounds quite dangerous dude,

i remember when i had to take the spring out of a BBgun and it would always pop out vigorously and it once hit me. imagine what it must be with a car spring! :D

so u need three jack stands? one for each side of the car and the other for the low control arm...
hmm
