The test indicates you might get a hamster's fart worth of extra airflow if you are lucky. The real issue appears to be the decreased filtration performance (yikes!):

On a related note, procrastination sometimes pays when it comes to replacing your air filter. :D I have been meaning to get around to installing the replacement air and cabin filters but had forgotten about the early spring problem with massive amounts of pollen. This year has been especially bad in the southern US. This is the hood of my shiny black car about 1 1/2 days after it was washed. Filter clog-o-rama! Guess I will wait a few more weeks.

Great link!,that pretty much backs up my thoughts on the filter topic.

Dispite me hating on foam filters for there poorer filtration(in most cases)...i went and bought a Piper Cross 3-ply foam the other day...mainly because it was 4"outlet and looked good:D
