well my 95 c280 with 165k, which has had some problems, is really pissin me off. i just replaced the alternator with a bosch and a new voltage regulator, along with a new battery to fix the car becuase it would die and have no power after charging the old battery. it ran fine for a day. then i went to start it up one afternoon to go to my girls house and it was ok for about a mile or so, startin like poppin when i gassed it, i guess it was missing a cylinder, but then it got worse and feels like it was running on maybe 3-4 cylinders and the popping gets worse, the popping sounds kinda like a potato gun, or throwing a firecracker in water.
the motor in it also has a unknown leak of radiator fluid and oil. so i just want to trash the stock engine before i have to put any more fuckin wasted money into it, but i dunno which way would be most inexpensive to get the 2.8 from the same year or maybe a lil newer v6 engine, or maybe a different series engine completely if there more common, well hopefully u guys can give me some ideas and options that i can do to fix and get rid of this car. thanks guys

ok that sux man thats what makes mercedes look bad. but i have to tell you somthing very inportant if your gonna do a engine swap, your going to have to follow the emission regulations of the newst year EX: in your case you have a 95 car. if you put a newer engine in it say like a 99 280 you need to pass emissions for 99 not 95 you get what im sayin. think about that that means OBD II

sounds like you need engine harness and headgasket, and not a cheap or easy fix by any means...

nah i checked the harness and its been replaced. im not to worried about emissions there very relaxed here in nc, espicially the shops near me. how easy is the wiring for a newer c280 v6 swap?
