my side moldings are grey or w/e that color is and i want to paint them to match the car when i do a body kit along with other parts. i also want to keep the chrome on them too. so does anyone know how are these moldings stuck on? by adsheve? by clips?

**MY w202 is a beige 97 c280, i believe with the pre -updated body

thanks

'97 is preupdate. the side mouldings have the chrome pieces molded into them, and they cannot be removed. just take extra care masking them off, and they'll be fine when painted.

the bumper trim can be removed though, as they are metal and held on by under-bumper hardware. while you're at it, i'd remove and paint the door handles to match as well, just be sure to cover up the IR ports on them for keyless entry.

In early / mid 1997 they released the update model w202, but there are still some from early 1997 that are pre updates.

well, what do you guys think...im thinking about doing a c43 fiberglass kit from Erebuni and should i keep the chrome part of the molding or paint over it? on the doors that is. i believe there no chrome on the bumbers on the c43.

again the car is Beige.

i've got lorinser sportline replica bumpers for sale, and wald side skirts. it would look, and fit much much better than the erebuni c43 replica kit.

check out my threads in the classified if you're interested, as i can do freight shipping.

1997 mouldings with CHROME strip can be removed.

the chrome is held on the moulding via white clips. they will need to be twisted counter clockwise to release.

trust me . i dont it many times. on my car
