Transmission Oil Change

I am planning to change my tranny oil and filter in my ‘94 C280 w/722.424 tranny. I bought this car last year and I am unaware when the last time this was done on it was. I have heard that the oil has to come from the MB dealership. Is this true? If not, what type/brand of tranny oil do any of you recommend? DIY post?

dont get the synthetic tranny oil

any dexron 3 will do, synthetic or conventional. I think what jnolte is trying to say dont use the MB synthetic fluid, which is used for 722.5 and 722.6 transmissions.

Don't forget to drain the torque converter too.
