hi guys hapy easter, i am having trouble with amp installtion. It is not working for some reason.ran the rcas from the headunit to the amp, tapped into remote line going to bose amp, and hooked 12v and ground to battery. light on amp says it is on, when i dsiconnect remote line light goes off so i think remote is working, guy at radio tested remote line and got no voltage out of it. speaker lines are correct. amp is new (lightning audio, yea shitty amp but im running only one shitty sub pioneer). i have been messing with this for the last two days can't seem to find the problem. maybe i need a cleaner splice when tapping into the bose remote line? regular speakers work fine just can seem to get this sub working.

im not sure i can be of much help but im running a JL 500 watt amp and 10'' eclipse subs. I recently installed my setup with my buddy...ran the amp power to the battery, spliced into the rear deck speaker wires via the trunk to pick up the signal, then spliced into a 12v wire also in the rear (then installed a switch so i can turn power on and off, and not drain the batter). I also used a transformer to convert the signal from the speakers to the amp. Everything works great! gluck though with your install. I wish i could remember the website I used for wiring it but just good some random audio sites because the one i found had a W202 wiring diagram for speakers.

ok found out that rcas needed to be thrown in rear output on headunit and not the one designated subwoofer. bose sounds pretty good with a shitty litttle amp and sub!!

I have a friend that can hook me up with some deck, amp and sub. I was thinking about it but I read that our W202 with the Bose system will not work with a new AMP and subs?
What do I have to do in order to use stock speakers with new amp and a sub? I plan on changing my deck also...

just put em in, for the deck u need antena adaptor and vw harness. as for the amp and subs ther are a couple of ways to go, u could wire from the head unit or run it off the rear shelves. shelves are easier because u dont need to run wires thru your interior just take off the rear speakers since they are already low frequency. search and you can find a shitload of ways to do it. my bose works fine for 13 years old, so i just added a sub, you wont believe how much better it sounds!!!

I did the same when I got my 202 but now have the Infinity Basslink with the Bose system...less shaking, more musical and proper.

i'm running stock bose amp and speakers, an alpine deck, 2x 12inch subs, and a kenwood amp. inorder to use the current speakers you need the hi/low convertor thing. you can search on the forum for the convertor. i believe it's called ven4 or something.

To see if the amp will work, you say its getting no voltage on the remote.
Just put a bit of wire on the 12V+ on the amp and the REM on the amp and see if it will work.
