Hi all, just wondering what is my best option for lowering my car?
I've seen many lowering kists (h&r, eibach) but they contain just springs and my mechanic says that when you lower a vehicle, you should change the shocks as well. I also want to put sway bars on the front and back.
If anyone knows of a complete set where I can get lowering springs, shocks/struts, and sway bars I would really appreciate it!!
*my rims will be changed, camber and toe adjusted as well

most branded kits work fine.
they all have different styles of handling and comfort levels.
depending on what height you want to be lowered, you should research on that.
for the lowest yet/safest way of lowering:
buy coilover kits.
if you want normal lowered looks, go for bilsteins or H&R.
H&R's are considered really stiff, and bilsteins are comfier.
(I love my H&R's btw, it's slammed right to the ground)
Make sure u get a alignment done after installing the kit.
Have fun, and you'll love it.

Yea I want my car lowered around 1.2", definitely not slammed to the ground...
*No coilovers pls :(
Yes I don't mind it "too" stiff however can you link me to a page where they sell a COMPLETE kit which contains = springs, struts, shocks, and sway bars?
I would appreciate anyones help on this issue, the more feedback the better.
If I need to mix and match parts seperately that is OK too, just as long you guys know they will work together
THANKS!!

Is tirerack.com a reliable site for suspension products? I saw a few parts from their web address that I could purchase

I'd say get the H&R Cup Kit from tirerack.com or order everything seperately. I don't think there are any kits that include sway bars. I know eibach makes a front & rear swaybar package for our cars and that its $450. On my car I'm running Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks and I like the setup.
P.S. Our cars dont have struts.

TireRack is the easiest site to use, shipping is very fast and always quality of parts not cheap stuff.
WalMart and TireRack ?? not even going to say anything.
yea go with the H&R cup kit, it comes with the springs/shocks, then get H&R sways that TireRack also sells.

i have personally never dealt with tire rack, but they seem to be a pretty high end site by the looks of things. they have there own tewst track where they test most of the products they sell, .lol i would say pepboys is the walmart of tires and other things. they have noname brands there, tirerack sells all the highend stuff like pirelli, dunlop eibach piaa and others

Tirerack, is awesome, unless you want a good selection of wheels for the 202. The shipping and customer service is excellent. I ordered tires and they shipped from atlant got them next day. They ship out of a ton of warehouses all ofver the US to cut down on shipping time's. Great site. I bought my tire's and my Eibach's there.

Hmmmm, i am definitley gonna go with the H&R cup kit however theres 2. One that lowers front by 2 inch and another less aggressive 1.
Is the cup kit that lowers the car by 2 inch too much lowering for daily driver use?

It depends how you like your ride... very stiff or not so much.. If you don't mind a rough ride daily then go with the 2" one + it will look more aggressive

the easiest way would be to cut some springs!!!
Just get a grinder and hack off 3 coils in the front and 4.25 off the back and it will lay perfectly on some 18's ;)
The ride isnt as shitty as some would say, the front will still ride on springs but the back will basically be on bumpstops, cut only like 3 coils on the back and youll still have a great mercedes quality ride just still tuckin some tire. Its a cheap way to get really low. (and it only takes about 3 hours for all 4 tires.)
off subject, im new to this site, can you get kicked off for using profane words?
goodluck! ;)

Iv never seen a car with cut springs ride good i'm not saying your wrong and i cant say iv drove a merc with cut spring so i have no idea how it would ride but im sure it will still bounc and bottomout all the time..................... I swear all the time it helps me prove a fuckin point

yeah, i cut my pretty damn low, at first i cut about 3 coild off each fornt and back , and the ride was just as nice as it was stock (because it wasnt layin on bumpstops) cuttin springs get a shitty rep cause people with hondas just slam their shit on bumpstops and makes the ride hella bumpy, but theres a huge difference in mercedes suspension and a honda suspension. With the mercedes your just cutting off the stock spring a little to make it lower, it still fits in the coil cups and everything still feels fine, if anything it makes your handleing alot better cause there is less bodyroll. I ended up cutting 4.5 coils of my springs in the back (basically on the stops) just cause i have this weird addiction to be as close to the ground as i can, but with 2.5 in front and 3 coils cut in the back you wont hit stops and you will still have an awesome german ride (you would be barely tukkin tire on 18's)
but it will be bagged/juiced soon ;)

Don't forget that you can always cut your bumpstop to get additional travel...

this is very true, and i was thinkin about doing that,,, but then that means my backend will go lower on bumps, which would result in alot more scrub and shit... but its an option that will probably happen pretty soon
