Their website doesn't have a very good search function and the local parts store seemed distracted by the homeless man who was yelling at everyone inside, so I never got a solid answer, but does Haynes make a general repair manual for our cars?

I was told they make a manual for various systems only, not their standard "all over" repair book, true or no? I just want one book with everything in it if possible.

Is alldata actually worth it? I was planning on getting a manual soon as well as I need to start some maintenance. Anyone have any good suggestions as to what is the best? I'm sure searching would of helped this thread alot, but while its already here.....

yea all data is ok, pictures suck, they dont cover every topic or have every spec, but for a diy'er it is ok.

For $24, I think the Haynes manual is an incredible resource. Not perfect, but very good for DIY stuff. It is written with the idea that most people will not have the Mercedes specialty tools, so they offer ways to get around that. I have the Mitchell CD and it is pretty lame. The MB WIS is a great resource but it can be so hard to find what you need and it assumes you have tools like a dealer. I like having a printed book vs. looking things up on a CD and printing it out.

I have the same car as you and the only thing the Haynes lacks is coverage of the supercharger and intercooler but those are pretty minor omissions in the grand scheme of things to fix on these cars. C280 owners should get this too because except for the engine itself everything else is very relevant.

The Haynes manual number is 3511:

Pay a little more and buy from one of the other listed seller to the right. No reason to wait 3-6 weeks.

I bought the Haynes as well. I prefer the DIY style of their manuals and how thorough they tend to be. I agree with the poster above that a book in hand is much more convenient than printing out pages, having to run back inside to the computer with grease on your hands, etc.

Thanks for the link!
