if i dissconnect the battery do i need the stock headunit to0 reset everything?

The new headunit for your radio should have its own code to reset itself. To my knowledge, thats the only thing that needs to be reset or unlocked once the power is reconnected.

Are you asking if you need to re-enter the code in your stock headunit if you change your battery? If so, yes.
You might also need to resynchronize your power windows and sunroof.

when my mechanic changed my battery he hooked up my car to another battery before changing the one in the trunk, i remember when he removed the batter the flashers kept flashing, and when he replaced my new battery my headunit, and window switches were just as they were...maybe some one knows how to do this, so that we dont have to reset everything everytime...

I've replaced my battery myself plus I disconnect it while
in storage over the winter and all I have ever had to reset
was the radio code.
