Hey guys,

I think I may have found a solution for the M111 NA guys but I need to see which stock pulley you have and what year/model car you have and etc. If you guys could take pictures of your stock crank pulleys somehow I think I may have a solution for you, one that may hit the market in the next few months (fingers crossed). Your help is much appreciated. Anyways let me know. thx

as of right now thats much further away than NA guys. SC pulleys are far more complex and alot more issues involved. this is strictly for NA guys. I'm trying my best though. thx

do you need a stock M111 NON kompressor crank pulley for the new one to be made from?

looks like my solution will work for 2000+ M111 NA cars but not the earlier design. I'll have to see what I can figure out and go from there. Hopefully i can come up with something soon.

What 2000+ model uses the M111 N/A engine?

wait so the 2000' M111 N/A (never seen one) uses a differnt pully ? I mean same engine, there must be some trick to this because it cant be that differnt from the 97' N/A ???

Heres mine, due to its much smaller mass i suspect the gains will not be as much as the 6's and 8's.

The n/a pully i have is from an older model around 94 i think, its mass ring is identicle to my old 97 SC pully.

I cut the SC pully off the original crank pully on my 230K(long story) and the two pullys were basicly identicle apart from the fact the n/a had 4 spokes and the SC had 5 or 6.

Hey Paul,

Excellent analysis, just what I was looking for. So are the offsets of the belt grooves the same as SC pulley? I have the SC pulley here with me but no NA one to compare it too so I am trying to see what can be done.

Np!,Yip the Offset and size are identicle for the pully that drives water,P/S,A/C.

Heres a few pics of the 230K pully i chopped the SC pully off.

I forgot, another difference between the two pullys(SC and n/a) is they both have different frequencies stamped on them, the SC has 280-310Hz while the n/a has 320-360Hz...im guessing this is the filter range they are set up for.

for comparison...
You can see there definalty finished differently, offset stays same however.

... Omey, I think I caught your little plan that you thought you had ... :D

Kleemann makes a M111K pulley which is only about $260, you were planning to chop the SC pully like 23K did and sell them to us N/a'd M111 guys ?

did I get that right ? what problems did you run into ... I have located 4 Kleemann M111K pulleys for $260, im near buying one this month.

actually no, not my plan haha. If its that cheap get it. Honestly i just didn't want to have to deal with the M111 pulleys b/c they are a nightmare :D . Be careful "Chopping it off" make sure you re machine it and balance it otherwise you could seriously damage your motor. Good luck, thank god I don't have to do these pulleys haha :D

FYI, That "Kleenman" pulley on ebay you are referring to is a fake, not a real one. Second off it does NOT have a harmonic damper which is a HUGE no no. you may luck out and your engine may last 5k, 10k, 15k, or even 20k miles more but it will eventually give just like my M3 engine did when I have non-harmonic dampened pulley. Buyer beware, just be careful you know what you are getting yourself into

RemoLexi

sure. go ahead, take my fun away. :o

... any update on when your custom M111 N/a pulley will be released?

omeyhomey
08-07-2007, 11:41 PM
not trying to take your fun away just saving you thousands of $$ in headache having been down that road before. Unharmonic dampened pulleys are always huge no/no. I will try to see what I can do.

and no way can a C36 pully that you have out work for my M111?

omeyhomey

one of my many pulleys may just happen to fit but i would have to have one in person to know for sure.

How much could cost me a set of pulleys for my C220? And what about gains?

omeyhomey
08-09-2007, 06:11 PM
honestly from the looks of it, I would say none of mine will fit just b/c the offset is so extreme on the M111 pulleys.

RemoLexi

im going to give that KLEEMANN pulley a try, I mean the price isnt THAT bad. ill order it and let you guys know if I run into any problems and if its real KLEEMANN or not.
