Crankshaft Position sensor

Well I have come to the conclusion that my 1998 C43 has a bad crankshaft position sensor.

I just replaced that same part on my wifes 1999 E320.

Same symptoms. (won't start when hot) and dies and won't restart while driving (PITA)

Her's never tripped the CEL. Mine now has.

Also, it was really easy to swap out in the V6 E class. It looks alot tougher with the V8 and the much smaller engine bay.

Any tips to make it easier!

if you have a floor jack, you can always prop up the trans a bit, or get under the car and slowly work on the little bolt.
