Upgrading Key

I wanted to get a newer key fob but I don't want to spend 114 dollars for the 2007 chrome smart key because I won't be able to use any of the functions because of my pre-updated vehicle so I was thinking about getting an older version on ebay. I don't know if it was on this forum but I remember seeing someone transfer their key blade to a newer fob. I searched mbworld, and bnzsport but didn't come up with anything.

you can get a key upgrade can i get one for my 202 but i thought someone here posted somthing about where to get an updated key

do you mean if you have the flip out key you can upgrade it, or if you already have the laser key you upgrade that one?

i think u must have flip out key, cause the chrome key is the same as the older 2 keys but much more pimped...if the others keys (the one in the pic, and the one before that) work in your car, then the chrome key would also work....

sorry about the late replay my internet when out for a day but ya my 202 has the smart key and i wanna up grade, does the dealer do that i know 97280 posted a link but no one sayed if the dealer does it and i also went to that website and did not foind that key

I think if you search on MBWorld I think that a few have did the same thing as the link I posted.. That might help..

if you have an updated key, or smart key then yes you can upgrade to the newer keys just like i did, if not then u can do !@#$, it has all been covered in the quoted thread
