hey guys,

after seeing some of jstrats newer pics with projectors I decided to ditch my crystals and get some :D

they also look even better in person than in pictures! and the cut off for the foglights / projector looks pretty clean cut for halogen! very interested to see what it's like with the HIDS.

The only problem with them is that they are fogging up a bit when they are on? They are the 5 pin version with the Glass lens. How do you fix this? I am guessing I need to add more silicone around the glass?

And once I find out what bulbs are in my brabus bumper (when it arrives) I am going to order some HID kits for the fog light projector position in the projectors and for the fog lights in the brabus bumper, maybe even for the high / low beam position but I will see how bright it is first.

I was wondering, vcruiser, jstrat and who ever else with hids behind the H3 projector, did you wire the fog light / projector to be the low beam HID? When you select low beam on the light switch does the H3 projector light up?

And jstrat, how did you wire up the fog lights in your bumper? I don't know what wiring harness is included with my brabus bumper yet but my car came stock with the w202 update bumper so no fog lights.

I am confused as to how I will wire up the hid kits as I want to put hids in the H3 fog light projector position and also in the fog lights in the brabus bumper.

Is the only option to have both bumper fogs and headlight fogs on at the same time?

thanks !

more than 25 people reading the thread and no replies. dont understand why people dont contribute.

anyway, i'm sure those could be re-wired. i would ask ur local mechanic.

although, ive been very dissapointed with the cut-off from those projectors. they are near crap, and dont have a distinct pattern. it's between NA spec and E-code patterns which really makes it a e-bay knock off style headlights.

well at least your putting hid's in the projectors.

hope everything works out. please post pics!

cheers

hey yusuke thanks for the reply, yeah the pins on the unit are attached to a panel which can be unscrewed, so I might check out how the wiring is attached to each pin underneath! but still interested to see what others have done particularly jstrat as he had no bumper fogs stock as well.

Yeah it actually surprised me how good the cut off was with halogen H3 behind the projector, I will get some pictures up in the next day or two and see what you think!

what I was going to plan on doing was just have it so when I get my parking lights and pulled it out to the fog position, my lower foglights and "low beam" projector would come on...I would only bring my knob all the way to the right if I really need that extra light...does this make sense?

hey

yeah you just need tosilicone it. Mine fog up a bit too and i havent fixed it yet. It only does it when it rains tho.

About the wiring, the place i brought it to re-wired my lights so that when I eventually get my foglight HIDs, they can both go on together.

hey, okay cool I will silicone it!

oc, yeah I was thinking replacing the city light with the hid in the bumper would be the best bet, but does it matter which pin we draw from? or does each pin get 12v 55w and will be able to run the 35w Hids?

thanks.

alright cool, yeah I think I will try and tap the city light wire for the bumper hids, i'll probably need lots of help installing hids though haha, so i'll keep you posted :D

Here are some pictures of the projector cut off, I need to move the right beam down a bit but you get the idea:

I think it's pretty good for halogen, will post up some pics when I get hids behind there!
