After my painful attempt to get poly bushes, and many miles of travelling from engineer to engineer, i've decided to screw it and use the OEM LCA bushes for now.

Only problem is i donno which way to fit the large bush. If you look, it has the 2 rubber supports and the central metal bushing is actually eccentric.

Now, in order to have correct wheel alignment after the fitment of the bushes, one needs to install them in the correct direction. does any one know how to position the bush? I need to know soon, cos i've booked the car in for Wednesday morning.

Now if you look at the second image where i circled a little triangle in red, perhaps this is supposed to line up with something???

Hey,
My haynes manual says nothing about which way they should go round...is it possible to mark them before you remove the damages ones from the lower arms?
from what i can gather the bushes are there to help isolate road noise/vibration transfer into the chassis...from the second pic here I suspect the larger gap in the bush to face the centre of the car,as this would provide the nessesary movment when hitting inconsistancies in the road...however i would have thought the change in alignment under heavy braking would effect how controlled the stop was...im not really sure......umm,maybe PM slammedC...with all those fresh qualifications he should be able to enlighten you;)

Thanks paul, i'll PM him.
The sad thing is that we actually pay more attention to detail and often have more knowledge on these details than most tuning centres...
