OK, gonna replace my brake rotors/pads. Any suggestions
as to the best rotors? The (affordable) brands I mainly see
listed are Brembo, Centric Black Hat, and ATE. Believe Balo is
the OEM but curious if any of these other brands are as good.
Open to recommedations for pads as well.

Balo and ATE are great if you're just replacing them. Upgrade to Axiis/PBR Deluxe Plus brake pads if you want to eliminate the brake dust, and keep near-oem brake pad stopping power. don't forget the anti-squeal paste, and stay away from ceramics if it's just a daily driver.

Got any other recommendations for pads? Researched
the Axxis/PBR pads and came across a lot of less than
enthusiastic reviews. Most say they do create less brake dust but
also report poorer braking ability than with OEM pads.

I have changed my brakes.
I used Balo OEM Rotors and PBR Deluxe Pads. I can see the difference on my rims. I didnt wash the car for 2 weeks and I can see that my rear wheels were darker than my front. Also, the brake dust seem very easy to clean off than the brake pads I had since I bought my car from the dealer! I have put very low miles on it since I bought it!
I'm happy about my brakes. The stopping power seemed to be the same, which I dislike, I like it to stop better.

Have the Akebono Euro pads and Zimmerman slotted rotors for about 4k miles now. No brake dust, no noise and about the same OEM braking power albeit not better but still happy with it.

Anyone know who makes the OEM pads for this car (C220)?
Will probably just stick with that.

My older friend who is very knowledgeable on all things Mercedes, recommends Textar Pads for what it is worth.

Yeah, found out pagid is the OEM pads for the front, Textar
for the rear. Now gotta find where I can buy 'em without
going to the stealership.

Many discount autoparts stores have them. The "thebenzbin" have a good range.

This site I think is linked with www.autopartswarehouse.com This is what the invoice says when I got my brakes from them.

I 2nd- try Akebono pads- no brake dust and with no diminishing effect in stopping.

Any noise? Can put up with brake dust. Cannot put up with
squealing brakes!

Properly installed and with the MB anti-squeal paste, you shouldn't worry about any squeals.
