When I start up my car, the RPM needle doesn't move sometimes and sometimes it starts moving after few seconds.
I noticed this problem since Dec 2006.
When it first occured, I thought the needle was frozen or something because it was cold in the winter. But now this problem appears frequently even in high 80degF's.

Is there somekind of sensors that I have to clean up or something? Or is it just electrical problem?

Only modification done to my car is the K&N filter which has been used for more than a year now.

This is a common issue in W202's. The MOST probable cause is that you have a sticky needle. Check the link below on how to remove your instrument cluster and how to get access to the needle to clean it. You can clean the others while you're there. Here is a good HOW TO on removing your instrument cluster and even changing the color of your lamps. The tutorial is by FRENCHY. I bow down to all his knowledge and mods he's done.

Frenchy Instrument Cluster Mod (http://mercedes-benz.forumactif.com/Les-classes-C-c5/W202-f18/TUTODepose-compteur-Upgrade-retroeclairage-LEDs-t6417.htm)

If you do not understand it, you can go to:
Altavista Babelfish Translation (http://babelfish.altavista.com/)
Paste in the Frenchy's URL and covert it french to english and you will understand it.

Thank you.
It's good to know that it's not at least a critical problem.
I guess I'll just stick with the way it is until it completely goes dead.
