A long time ago i topped up my brakes with Dot5,not such a good idea so i read(3 years later)

I really need to flush out the entire system(clutch,ABS and calipers)

I know MB uses a pressure tank attached to the reservior, but how do they cycle the ABS so that all old fluid is removed?...is it done via the dianostics port??

Any help would be appreciated,Thanks
Paul

hi Paul,

lately I'm not posting here since I've sold my great W202 kompressor:( (now I'm running a W203 C270 cdi). May be I go wrong but someone may confirm: I've read somewhere that only pre-facelift W202 need to operate the ABS unit via a suitable procedure done at the stealer, this inorder to flush that part of circuit.

Facelifted 202, like your (and my old one:) ) does not need it.

As said other members may confirm.

Your problem is another: hot to flush the circuit part from the reservoir to the hydraulic clutch cylinder, the one attached to the clutch pedal.

Probably that part of fluid has been never changed since is a close circuit but in any case the fluid probably is contaminated.

If you intend to perform the work probably you need to dismout the clutch cylinder to flush it.

hi

Marco:)

hi

Marco:)

Heya Marco,
thought we hadnt seen you round for a while!=),nice buy on the 2.7 turbo diesel!,it must go really well!!
I see,I will check up alittle more on the ABS and if it needs cycling...which can be done on a slippery surface but im not too keen on that idea!
the clutch master and slave cylinder can be blead via the bleed valve located on the slave cylinder,so that should be too much of an issue!

Thanks Marco goodluck with the new ride!,

thanks Paul!

Go strong with your W202, I've to say my kompressor miss me:rolleyes:

In any case I'm happy with 270cdi engine....I've only a strange whistle sound coming from auxilliary engine belt area, may be a bearing:( but due to the fact it's not a loud sound, actually I keep as it is), but it's quite annoying:(

Sometimes I surf here mainy on boba lounge section since this is really a great forum with a lot of friendly people:)
