I should be getting my 210 power folding mirrors soon - here is my question: Is there a way I can hook them up to a relay so that every time I lock my car they fold in and when I unlock it they fold out? I need help from my electrical gurus! Thanks.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm? If you get a nice Viper or Clifford one they have a ground when armed, then just wire up a transistor... im sure i could find a solution, just let me know what you have..

I have a factory one...I would love to keep it stock, because I just love the stealth factor. Is there anyway to maybe hook it up to something having to do with the doors locking/unlocking and not the alarm itself?

Ill have to do a little thinking, but there is a +12v pulse coming either off the green or blue wire from the factory alarm box under the passenger kick panel when the car is locked. Do you need to hold the switch to fold the mirrors in?

Well my guess is that you do, on my friends ML, you need to hold it in to fold the mirrors all the way in.
All you need to do it take that lock signal (need to find out exactly what kind of signal it is) and stretch it out to a timed +12v signal to the wire that folds the mirrors in. Shouldn't be to hard, i just need to get a little more info.
So where did you get the folding mirrors anyway?

I was thinking the same thing with a Viper/ Clifford using an aux. On mine you have to hold the button to fold them. Would be cool though if I could just push a button and then they fold.
That would be bad ass!!!
As markland said, but you may need 2 12V timers activated from the door locking module for open/close, which would run in parallel with the console switch... you may need to run two timers because if you ran one with two sets of contacts it would try to close and open at the same time
You may also want two sets of contacts on each timer for an electrical interlock so that you cant end up pushing the mirror button open while locking the car,or by some how energizing both timers at once.

Does locking/unlocking remotely and manually use the same relay? Just thinking, if you lock your car manually when you are inside and driving, that would fold your mirrors too. :D

Nope, there is a differance between arming the alarm and locking the doors. If you left the drivers door open and armed the car it wont lock the doors but the mirrors will fold in.
Give me a day or 2 and ill have a schematic for this.
Sweet, looks like i got a set of these mirrors comming.:D

I should be getting mine soon. I'm working on selling my car and getting this C230K so as soon as i get my replacement gauge cluster i will work on a writeup for this.
Have you had any luck finding a switch for the mirror's. We need one that would clip where the trunk pop button is, or thats where im putting mine. I i have the part number for the switch. Its: 210 820 20 10
If anyone can locate a source for those i would appreciate it. Then i need to find the plug for it and creat a wiring harness unless someone can get a part number for that too.

the wiring harness part number is 202 540 39 13 according to Nokia's write up on the install found here:
http://club202.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59
and yeah...I was just going to plug in my switch where the trunk pop used to be...I figure I already have two other methods to get to the trunk, that third one is not that necessary. The best source for these two items would be oempartsdirect.com these two things only come out to ~$69 with shipping.

most dei alarms (viper, python, clifford) will have a white/blue wire that is a peogrammable negative auxillary output. I can be programmed for different functions : validity (works only when you push the button), latched (push buitton once to trigger, push button again to remove trigger), latched - reset with ignition (push button to trigger, push button again to release trigger or turn ignition off), or latched timed (push button to trigger, trigger released after 30 seconds).
The easiest way is to wire the mirror's fold activation wire to the alarm's white/blue wire and program for latched operation

I installed the W210 blinker mirror with power folding
on my W202 a few years ago.
I added a factory switch for folding/unfolding them
(but had to order a new wood panel with exra hole,
next to the mirror switch)
In addition, I wired it so that the mirrors automatically
fold in when the engine is turned off. When the car is
started, the mirrors automatically fold out again. I had
thought about hooking it up to operate via remote, but
decided against it... too complicated for me... :)

howd you do that???do you have instructions and pictures?
also, can you still fold them in and out with the switch on the inside?
