Updated w202 3rd brake light

Only half of mine lights up, so I took it out and tried to take it apart, I have no idea how it comes apart, and it looks like LEDs, So what now? Do i have to buy a whole new 3rd brake light? Anyone take out the updated w202 3rd brakelight?

I dont have a 3rd light myself but ive seen em on other 202s and they look 99% LED. If thats the case you really cant do much unless your an electrician of some sort.

well mine is a halogen bulb, wish they were leds though. you can slide the whole unit out on mine by sliding it away from the rear window. then there are two press in tabs that take the rear case off of the unit. then there is to metal tabs inside the unit that push in to take the internal stuff on mine out. hope that helps. you may just have to get a new unit, a wire or something is probably ruined

after fiddling with it for a while, it needed some re soldering, its fixed now

i guess all that bass rattled it to crap
