I have a 9923k, does anyone know what type of wood is in there?

It is "burl walnut" according to the 1999 sales brochure for the USA.

Looks like the same type. If you are trying to match it to some existing wood trim, the key will be trying to find a similar grain pattern and color of finish. This can really vary from year to year and car to car. The 99's I have seen often are often quite a bit darker than the 98's I have seen.

LOTS LMAO, but i was thinking about a Double Din Dash, and i was thinking to use formica (the shit they use on counters) for a dash kit, instead of using Fiberglass (keep it looking OEM). of if im not doing the double din, i was thinking of making a face to that opening above the ash try
