Console creaking

Since the warm weather came , and it didnt do this last yr, the console area (from the shifter up to the radio) has started to make creaking/cracking noises going over general road bumps.

Its starting to get really annoying and feels like car is breaking apart by hearing it. Anyone have this before? Im pretty sure its the wood.

i haven't even tho mine is the sport(no wood) is the creaking come from under neath? or top? if its coming from undeneath just pull the dash apart and check under it.. maybe something spilled or maybe thos chips you had last year have gotten hard and your hearing it;) taking it apart at least you can see if it stops with that panel off:cool:

Its coming from atop....the wood rubbing against the plastic. Im afraid to crack the wood though...

As for the chips haha...nope doubt that never had food in the car.

well if i recall that piece comes off very easy...if you go to the colum double din for a 202 in the forums it will take you step by step how to do it ....dont use a screw driver to wedge in it...since i m a installer there are several tools out there that allow panels to be popped up...for instance i have a tool set which i bought from snap on for 20 bucks which has 5 platsic wedge type tools for that kind of install....as for the chips maybe someone else was eating in there and you don't know it yet:D
