My 1996 c200 wont start. I have had mechanics look at it and there is spark, the fuel pump is working but the injectors are NOT pulsing.
Central locking stopped working at the same time the car stopped working.
The red and green lights in the rear view mirror refuse to flash at all even when i try to turn the car on.
When the mechanics attached their computer to mine, they couldn't access my ECU it said error or something and told me it was most likely my anti-theft device.
I have talked to the dealership and they said it wont be the anti-theft device because the rear-view mirror lights aren't flashing when I try to turn the car on.
Im completely baffled and any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Chris

have you checked the engine management fuses, there are usually two of them. one supplies the ecu, while the other is for the emissions.

I just read you post thoroughly, and I missed the part that there is a spark. Since your ECU controls both the spark and fuel, but you say there is a spark, then the only thing I can think of is the ECU itself. as for the ECU being tied in with the alarm, it depends on the type of ECU your car uses. my guess would be HFM system according to the year which in most cases does not get cut out by the alarm, but rather the starter is interrupted. but since the car is not US market vehichle, your car might have come with the ME system, but I could be wrong.

Thanks very much for you suggestions, the mechanics I have talked to since that post have told me that it is most likely a fault in my ECU. Ive decided the best possibile thing to do is send it into my local mercedes mechanic I just hope he is as clued on as you seem to be.
Ill let you know the outcome and again, thanks very much for your help.

that flashing lights thing happened to my cuzin c280, i think its somekinda anti theft. I just unpluged the battery for 10- 20 mins and pluged it back on and it was fine

Na man my lights wouldnt go at all. I disconected the battery thinkn that mite fix it but no. The end problem was that the ECU had short circuited. It wasn't a DIY job at all. Had a proper mercedes merchanic take care of it. Just fixed this morning. Thanks for the help tho aye.
