How would I go about replacing stock tweeters with these 2" high performance ones? I tried opening the tweeter grill to no avail, aswell how should they be mounted/pointed?

If you look into the top portion of the air vent under the tweeter grill you should see a plastic leg which is holding the grill down...use a small screw driver to push the leg inwards then upwards to release the grill.

There isnt to much room in there for most tweeters, the air duct limits depth, the dash and the way the grill sits in limits diameter...so you will have little choice on mounting angle.

Thank you C23

Another thing I was thinking of was mounting them on the sail panel somehow where the new benzes have them and where they actually should be! Im awaiting the tweeters to be delivered and see.

Judging by this picture, it looks like there is enough room to play with...but mounting could be an issue and pointing them...I dont know where to point them to get good image.

The tweeters were delivered today. They are 2" and weigh about half a pound each...pretty beefy!

Any suggestions in fitting these in the 202 for good imaging?

i've always wanted to fit bose tweeters, but got told that bose doesn't make after-market speakers for cars, so i've been considering boston acoustics ever since...

WHERE DID YOU GET THEM? HOW MUCH WERE THEY?

They were from a parted out SLR Mclaren for $30. But some bad news, upon opening up the tweeter grille, there is no room for them to fit. I need about an inch extra for them to squeeze into the stock holes. Im eitheir going to look for pods or try to put them somewhere in the A-pillar....should be a good project.

They weigh about 1/2 a pound and are BEEFY!

A pillar would achieve best imaging

I need some help on this....not sure where I can put these giant tweeters. They are heavy and I dont want to cut the A - pillars...let alone, they dont come with their own pods or the like.:(

if your going to replace the tweeters there are many manufactures such as diamond, infinty, jl audio, boston that sell after market tweeter set ups that will sound much better then a factory tweeter. although its a better way to do but will cost about 100 bucks to do so. since those tweeter are parallel to the drivers in the door the impedence is not much of a factor since most tweeter have some kind of cap or crossover .if its just a cap like the factory the tweeter won't show much of a resistence then if it had a crossover .

Well for now, i just wanted to replace the stock tweeter with a better quality one. What i wanted to do is find a tweeter that would fit right in, since the 2' that benzonline had did not fit right in. Thanks

I didnt/couldnt do anything with those Bose tweeters since they are too big for anything in the stock location, let alone heavy!
