Recently '95 C220 has now and then not started. Panel lights come on
but no cranking or power. Battery new, sparkplugs new.
Searched this forum and think its either (1) neutral safety
switch (2) ignition switch or (3) bad ground wire. Where are the
first two switches? Can a DIYer check and replace these?

Just wondering if you've had any overheating issues lately? My starter would sometimes be intermittent when the car overheated. Had a small water leak that ended up killing my starter after a few months. Had the leak fixed and starter rebuilt and no more issues.

Sure that's not the problem. Car's always run at normal
temp. My shift lever's been
rattling and kinda loose and the bushings probably have
to be replaced. Heard a loose shifter can interfere with the neutral
saftey switch so I may have my mechanic look at it. BTW the no start is only intermittent.

Starter lockout switch is on the side of the transmission.
Ignition switch is behind key?

On later models it looks like there might also be a relay behind the left kick panel.
