I would recommend All Mercedez in Fremont. They specialized only in Mercedes and very friendly.

The owner is Randy...He was a former mechanic for Mercedes Benz over 15 years in SF before opening up his own shop.
He specializes in Mercedes and Porsche.

I have been using a guy in Martinez named Gunther. He's a retired mechanic from MBZ of Walnut Creek who does repairs from his home. It's worked well for me because I live close by and travel a lot for business. I drop off my car prior to leaving town and he gives me a ride home... When I return home, I give him a call, he picks me up, and I drive my car home.

Gunther is extremely knowledgeable, dependable, reasonable... and he's a nice guy. He also does suspension work, and I'll trust him to install my lowering springs and shocks.

He may not be a solution for you, since you don't live as close... Let me know if you want his contact info.
