So, I finally obtained a used MAF housing (thanks to those who helped me look for one!) for my MAF relocation project on the C230K. I have created this:

From this standard MAF housing (you can just barely see my pencil line for cutting):

I created this new piece to serve as a reliable connector since with my luck the "sand & jam" method in Linh's/Proven Guilty's tutorial would have no doubt blown out on me on some deserted road late at night.
At this point, I need to acquire a rubber/silicon coupling to connect my new part at the intercooler to the repositioned black intake pipe similar to what is shown in Linh's tutorial.
I need to couple a 2.6"/66 mm pipe with NO lip (the modified MAF housing) to a 2.64"/67 mm pipe WITH a 2.75"/70 mm lip on it. Nobody locally stocks anything but 2.5" and 3.0" connectors, so I am going to have to order. My questions are:
1. Can I use one 2.75" silicon coupler even though it the two shafts are really 2.6"? Will it still seal OK down to that small? I still have to clear that 2.75" ridge on one side. (I have not found a reducer for these sizes.) The silicon seller's sites make it sound like you have to have the exact right size because silicon is notorious for not sealing easily.
2. What type clamps do you all use? They make it sound like you are going to hell if you use a regular type clamp with ridges on the underside. Hype? I can find clamps up to 2.69" and then larger than 2.75" on their websites, but nothing that covers from 2.5" to over 2.75."
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I just don't want to make an expensive mistake considering how long it takes to ship and how expensive these little parts cost.
Thanks.
