i know there is info availiable with the search feature but i am curious what u guys think about THIS kit?
here is the link:

one advisor at work (Lexus dealership) has this exact kit and says it works great. i would get the 6k or 8k because i want that slightly blue look. for the money i feel i cant go wrong but are there any things that might go wrong if i plug this into my stock (non hid) light setup?
thanks!

I have to admit that's the best price I've seen. You should ask your friend to let you see his and ask him what color temp he got. Then base your decision off of that. Remember to let us know how it goes if you do decide to purchase them.

I bought it last week! :D ... and It just came in this morning! (when I checked my mail after a night of hard partying) anyway I ordered 9005 bulb style and a 8000K color temp.
I will install tonight and let you guys know how it is, installation does seem very simple (plug n play).

Make sure that your whole front will not melt or you're gonna spend more money
in fixing it.

There's no way they housing can melt. HIDs are a lot cooler than any regular halogen bulbs. The only part that might get a little hot will be ballast, and that gets attached further from the headlamp housing.
RemoLexi and iwhocorrupts, it would be awesome if you both posted pics from different angles (having the lights hit the garage door or wall is best). Then we can compare the 8000k and 10000k and vote on which one looks best.

I just got home, so ill be installing it soon.
ill get a few pix and for the issue of having my lights being very bright - well, first off my projecters are VERY bright alone, so what I did is point them more towards the ground so that its not as intense. hope my tip helps.

07-03-2007, 12:30 AM
nice nice. do you have pictures of the beam pattern?
RemoLexi
07-03-2007, 02:03 AM
install = Plug n Play, just mount the ballast under the headlight so its nice and clean.
bulb size - mine are 9005's but dont go by what I have because I have custom retro-fitted projecters, your will be either H7 or H4 ? make sure you find out for yourself !
beam pattern is nothing special on my car, I didnt exactly get the best projecters for beam pattern - but these projecters are used as Hi-beams on a Lexus GX470 so these things are damn bright!!!
Glad you like! :)

wow those really look great! thanks for takin the pics, now im pretty sure im gunna get them
so i have 2 questions: (mine is a 99 C280 - sport)
1 - i need the H7's right?
2 - how do u go about mounting the ballasts and do u have pics? (i dont have projectors - stock halogen set-up)
RemoLexi
07-04-2007, 09:33 PM
Im 99.9% sure you have H7's.
I dont have any pictures of where I mounted the ballast but what I did is I removed my headlights, drilled two holes under them and mounted the ballasts' underneath the headlight assembly.
hey remo can you get a picture up of beam pattern on a road / up against a wall, would be interesting to see how they perform for such a cheap kit!

These are all the pics I have for now.
I can do a write-up on how to install w/ some pics if you need me to. Installation was pretty easy, plug and play like Remolexi said, but with one exception, you would need to drill a 1" hole on the lamp covers so that the wires can pass through. I'll get some pics so you can see what i mean.

*These pictures were taken after I have already installed the HIDs.
How to install HIDs
Step 1: Remove the rear cap from the housing. Its that big round black thing with the wires sticking out of it (pretend there are no wires sticking out of it for now) press that tab on the top and it should come right out. Place aside.
http://a689.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/66/l_97abe83fcce73eeeb29af3b0d9352c48.jpg
step 2: Remove your old bulbs: start by unplugging the electrical source from your old bulbs. Do this by wiggling it left and right until it becomes loose.
http://a476.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/75/l_9229a3a3aebfc26cf2f36ae4b96d1fab.jpg
the electrical source im talking about is the thing with the brown and yellowwires in my hand.
After that is out, release the old bulbs by undo-ing the clip that holds them in.
http://a147.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/80/l_133ac3d93eb2423c68d847445dc59f2a.jpg
push them in, and left. Then pull the bulbs out, save these just in case your HIDs go out.
Step 3:
-Grab your HID bulb and gently remove the cover. The bulbs may seem to be stuck inside the cover, but just give them a gently twist and they'll come loose.
-GENTLY insert your HID bulb into housing. Be very careful not bang the bulb against anything.
*Make sure the part of the HID bulb with the tab-sticking-out is pointed up
Now bend the wires of your HID bulb so that your original bulb clips can fit over them.
http://a695.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/128/l_507d359e6a265a94e602e9c6b5479a86.jpg
Connect the red prong to the yellow wire side, and the black prong the to brown wire side.
http://a476.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/75/l_9229a3a3aebfc26cf2f36ae4b96d1fab.jpg
Drill a 1" hole through the center of the cap so that the wires can pass through. (I bought a 1" drill bit from Homedepot just for this purpose), pass the wires through far enough so that round rubber seals cover the hole. This may need a little persuasion.
http://a272.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/79/l_d8d79510991fa5ca8c5cba45145a3757.jpg
Now all you need to do is connect the wires the the ballast. Find somewhere to mount the ballast first. The connections are really simple, just plug in what fits.
http://a604.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/117/l_d8b9f195aebb3f2dbd1372a8e59aabcb.jpg
!!!! now you are finished with 1 side, now all you gotta do is the other side.
after you are finished, you can turn on your lights and gaze
