tire rotation vs. looks and handling.

the wider rear wheel plants more rubber on the ground in a flat tread overall. less slip, more grip.

there's something about the rear rim lip too that just cannot be beat, but in other people's budget, tire rotation takes priority. dropping $1k on tires every 6 months to a year is not everyone's idea of fun.

gives the car that mean lean when u lower it. Again, AMG benefits significantly with a staggered set up.

staggered on any Benz especially an AMG. It just looks right. The alternative is using hubs to make it look right (staggered).

You don't want staggered ona non-AMG car unless you have a body kit. It just looks wrong. For an AMG, yours, they came with staggered and with the body kit on it, it's goign to look wrong without the staggered setup

keeping all the wheels the same

Pro: easier to rotate wheels

Pro: wider rears mean greater turn in... a tendency for the front to turn faster than the rear causing the rear to swing out in a spin. You wouldnt really notice it unless you were on a track at high speed and only if you knew what it felt like.

pro: being able to rotate = buy tires less often = cheaper

Con: more rubber in the rear = better hook up = faster acceleration

Con: staggered looks better/meaner

Con: uneven tire wear/less tire life = more expensive (fwiw) I switch to a general tire and saved $75 a tire and have been very happy.

i honestly think staggered wheels take corners a lot better at higher speeds since the rear tire is alot more wider... staggered also gives the rear a beefy look to your car in most staggered fitments like me the fronts are 18. 8 and the rears are 18.9 1/2 with a 225/40/18 in front and the rears are 255/35/18 in rears and i have very very minor rubbing on the right side but the tires tuck nicely :bunny:
