Do you have to remove your subs to get to your spare tire? Im about to run a similar setup, how did you wire everything from you headunit to your trunk? Underneath the carpet?

You have to pull all your door sills off, remove your back seats and that pannel under your steering wheel. Im selling that fiberglass enclosure if your interested $200 bucks, it has a few lil dings. System weights to much 100 pound subs in like a 50 pound box.... nope i pull out the spare tire to fit 2 amps, and 1 5f cap.

what are my other options in terms of wiring? Id rather not have to remove the back seats at least =/

Its more of a hassle to try to install it without taking out the back seats then it is to do it. I'm pretty sure everyone can say the same, All you have to do is push in the clips on each side of the front bottom, then lift it up. Then all you have to do is remove the 3 bolts on the top part located at the bottom. Its easy, plus you get to learn your car a lil bit better

I cant believe all the weight you guys put in! Its all show no go after that. Mine is pretty heavy and its a waaay smaller installation than yours. Oh well its pretty.

weight is a killer. I have an MTX 9500 with a JL 1000/1 amp. Total weight is about 100 pounds. it adds up. Biggest killer is my wheels though... i need to get some better ones!

Hah! I tested quarter mile with 11x19" rims & sound system, no big difference...

NEA-4311
07-24-2007, 02:12 AM
Its not a test if you havent done the same before you fit the ICE n rims on, and if its not timed as well. You cant feel much difference yes, but I still believe that its been affected, its a lot of weight. Not to mention the negative effects when it comes to cornering...

rikumon
07-24-2007, 03:41 AM
Of course extra 50-100 kg means something, but not so much that you can say "only show, no go " .Glass fiber panels maybe looks heavy, but they are not so heavy actually, of course subbox weights a little.

NEA-4311
07-24-2007, 04:52 PM
100kg might not make a difference when it comes to top speed and maybe acceleration, but they become 500kg when it comes to cornering as I mentioned above, and thats a part of "go". Its cool with me as long as its cool with you guys.

rikumon that install is awsome! i love infinity,
i have one infinity perfect 12 in my car and love the clarity and quality of it, before that i had a few different rockfords including an hx2, but these had nothing on the infinity.

and NEA a bit of sound gear isnt really any worse than carrying an extra passanger.
besides i dont see any race cars in here ;)

lmao i took the spare tire out and replaced it with nos, see i don't think vin relized how much of a pain in the ass it would be to refill all those bottles. Would be pretty cool tho, it would have to be placed where back part of the seat comes off. No more heated seats after you spray :) I'm selling my sub enclosure........

DD 6.2 Woofers. Not an easy fit. Just going through issues with the woofers atm. Hopefully sorted this week

Thanks to DeeCee for the design of my box.

Now we can see the 475+ but not the Monoblock. There was really nowhere apart from there for the amp to go. Doesnt look to bad i dont think? Can Get to the settings on the amp from where it is, can get box out without taking the amp out, and the box can get out of the boot with the cable still attached, ideal.

Will be amping speakers soon to go in the rear, either my Rainbows, or DD woofers. Sorting this atm.

3 pages and only a handful of people posted pics. You figure every (other) post would be a sound system pic but rather it's someone with a comment. nice.

maybe its a sports feature since mine is a sport....as for that box design CRU it should slam i did one for a 12 yesterday for a jl d3 and was running a small rockford 300.1 and dude can you say 15 LOL hey cru as for that design i sent you, you can add 1/2 mdf cut them one inch by the length of the box building like a frame around the edge on both sides of the box(usually the left and right side) when done building the edge router them round. this way it give you two things ...when carpeting or vinyling the box it allow you to wrap it with one piece allowing you to tuck the extra inside the seems. then get a 1/4 piece inserting in side the frame structure allowing for carpet or vinyl thickness and it will look nice.( if you look at the pictures i sent you of the one i did in my pop up you can see the final result:cool: any questions about the frame just pm me
